Task Description:
For about the whole term Team Tui had been preparing for the expo. Kia ora Guys, today Team Tui had an exhibition due to all of the hard work and effort put into our LCS for this term. This term I have been researching about the Tuiga (ceremonial headpiece) as well as creating one. I’ve really enjoyed the pressure as well as the frustration everyone was putting into their work. But advice for my future self would probably be to priortise my time wisely. Fa’afetai Lava, Malo.
Task Description:
For today’s summer learning journey task, I have created a superhero based on where I come from and my identity. Her description describes the way she looks and her character, and her superhero name is “Sina the baddie and eel” . I have placed the eel (which is her sister/side kick) as a Sei (headpiece) to make her look unique. Her parents sent her to a country to get a good education as well as getting a job. The place she is living in is where there are many stereotypes that are made about but she doesn’t let that get her as she can also tell the futures of others (which are sometimes bad).
My inspiration was based on Sina and the eel. I hope you’ve enjoyed it and thank you for viewing it !

Kia Ora Guys, for today’s cyber-smart challenge I had to complete a word search as well as match the description of the options on the side (slide 3). This task was very fun as I get very invested in word searches. Matching the description would’ve been hard if my friend (Khin Lin) didn’t assist me. Other than that, I hope you have a great day !
Task Description:
Today for Maths Team Tui learnt about Financial Literacy. The words we got out of financial literacy include expenses, business, will, investing, budget and a few other words.
For this task we were given $2000 to spend by granny gran, but since everyone is under 16 we had to get $1000 now and save the other for when we turn 16. We also made columns for the needs and wants. I chose to buy a big mac combo as well as a sausage dog as I wanted it. The total cost was $715.00 which leaves me with $315 left to spend. I really enjoyed this task because it taught me how to budget (which I didn’t really do) !
Task Description:
On Tuesday the 21st of November, all the student leaders, role patrols and the hard workers in Team Tui went to Rainbow ends. When we got to Rainbow ends, our first ride was the Stratos Fear (extreme version). This ride was super petrifying as it was our first ride(bad idea) and was probably the second scariest. We then went on the gold rush, which wasn’t that fun nor scary but it was nice. After that, we went on the invader which was probably the best (personally). I think we went on that ride 4 times. But I really enjoyed the log flume as we just got a little bit wet.

Kia Ora Guys, so today for maths we got the option to chose between multiplication, addition and subtractions, and statics for our independent tasks. I chose fraction as I feel that I needed the help out of all the 4 areas. How to solve these equations is pretty easy and doesn’t take that long. As long as you know which is the numerator and the denominator.
Our first step is to divide our whole number with our denominator. Then taking that answering multiplying it by our numerator.Which the formula is W÷D x N = . I hope you learnt something because I did !

This week for cyber-smart we learnt about media bias/advertisements. For this task we had to create an advertisement poster on whatever we were advertising. But my group decided to make a ad along with bloopers. Our ad was about the microwave 3000, which we made up. This task was more entertaining as we enjoyed recording and acting.
Task Description:
For today’s math we learnt about adding and subtracting fractions with related denominators.
The first step was to find the least common denominator. How we do that, is we find the first number to appear the same in each denominators time table. Next we will transform a denominator to be the same number. But whatever you do to the bottom you must do to the top. Now we are ready to add, but the denominator must always stays the same. For example 24 over 16 + 22 over 16 = to 46 over 16, meaning we only plus the top while the bottom stays the same. I hope you have learnt something !
